Four years after the passing of Sister Luzdary Cardona, founder of the Camino de María Social Foundation, her legacy remains more alive than ever. Thanks to the contributions of individuals and organizations who generously donate their time, food, or financial support, we are able to help many out-of-school children, giving them dignity through evangelization, access to education, and proper nutrition. Beneficiary population
We serve children and adolescents between 8 and 16 years old from highly vulnerable socioeconomic households (low-income and extreme poverty), living in areas adjacent to the organization's area of influence.
One of the main characteristics of these families is housing instability, which leads many children and young people to drop out of school.
This population is underserved by the state, because since they are not enrolled in school, there is no real data on them.

The families our children come from totaled 152 as of June 2026. Over the past 3 years, an average of 152 families have been served: 98 Colombian, 43 Venezuelan and 11 Colombian-Venezuelan.

Location and area of influence
Our Foundation is located in the La Paz neighborhood, in the southwest of Barranquilla. We serve a highly vulnerable population residing in nearby neighborhoods and small housing groups, facing extremely precarious socioeconomic and sanitary conditions. All of our beneficiaries have easy access to the Foundation.
